I too know all the different ones and which are best for eating, baking, preserves, and sauce. We would make apple everything and eat so much of it you would think we would eventually get sick of apples, but that never happened.Emily @ablanket2keephttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10398858102692984237noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5544913458028415917.post-10536834719889496972012-10-13T23:46:51.445-04:002012-10-13T23:46:51.445-04:00I just made this with my daughter and our house sm...I just made this with my daughter and our house smells so good.

Super easy. My stepsister had a cherry orchard when I was growing up, and we used to pick those, but I've always wanted to go apple picking.

Yesterday Ian and I finally had a chance to stop and check out what we thought were apple trees we'd been driving by for weeks. When we got closer, they weren't apples, and I had to turn to google to find out they were Osage oranges.Aprilhttp://rsativus.wordpress.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5544913458028415917.post-63892522942184852732012-09-29T01:19:21.119-04:002012-09-29T01:19:21.119-04:00I have happy memories of going apple picking with ...I have happy memories of going apple picking with my family when I was a kid. My mother-in-law and I took Sean once a few years ago and had a lot of fun. My palate may be undeveloped, but McIntosh are still my favorite to eat plain! When I want apples to put PB on or dip in caramel or cheddar and beer fondue, then I go Granny Smith. Bob's favorite are Red Delicious. How awesome you got to have apple pie for breakfast! I always seem to leave your blog craving some kind of food, but my heart and soul feel full from your beautiful and inspiring writing. xoxoKathyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04175833982955486083noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5544913458028415917.post-1984594566526107392012-09-28T09:25:41.319-04:002012-09-28T09:25:41.319-04:00spending most of my life in the house, local apple...spending most of my life in the house, local apples & apple picking are new to me---we are going to go this year for the first time to a nearby orchard. I gotta say though, as much as I love the cooler weather & the changing leaves, I am 100% a summer fruits gal myself. I'll grudgingly eat apples, and winter oranges are good for a couple of months, but I'm already waiting for peach & berry season to return :)anahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18320182732889825712noreply@blogger.com
