And maybe it's the most powerful thing possible.

http://www.shambhala.org/teachers/pema/tonglen1.phpLori Lavender Luzhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15394441222262940632noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5544913458028415917.post-50205441838838391462013-04-16T11:02:32.635-04:002013-04-16T11:02:32.635-04:00I totally agree that "looking" feels pas...I totally agree that "looking" feels passive and that we need to find ways to act. I burst into tears last night (finally, after "looking" at the coverage in stunned silence and fear) when I saw that the Red Cross asked people not to come in to donate blood because they had enough to handle the current crisis. The fact that so many people had already, within hours, flooded the Red Cross with offers of blood to help. That, more than the Mr. Rogers quote (which I do love, but agree is not terribly empowering), is what makes me feel hopeful in this horrifying moment.

I hope none of us ever become immune to acts of violence, though I do hope that we can somehow restore our system to wholeness. Love does win. I appreciate this phrase of yours and will repeat it in my head in the coming days. Thank you.Rachaelhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15578298916240000333noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5544913458028415917.post-77684429508396016732013-04-16T06:03:22.458-04:002013-04-16T06:03:22.458-04:00I think you just said everything that I would have...I think you just said everything that I would have wanted to say about yesterday, had I been articulate enough.
